一、中心简介

广东外语外贸大学中国周边战略研究中心成立于2018年12月29日。中心是依托国际关系学院成立的校级人文社会科学重点研究基地，是广东省首个专门从事中国周边战略研究的研究机构。    

中国周边是中国和平发展的牢固地缘战略依托。党的十八大以来，伴随世界格局变化和中国发展大势，突出周边、争取良好周边环境在中国发展大局和外交全局中，其重要性日益凸显，更加积极、主动构建中国周边战略在理论和实践上皆具有刻不容缓的迫切性。基于国家重大理论研究与现实需求以及广外建设国际化高水平大学的总要求，中国周边战略研究中心侧重中国东北亚、东南亚南亚周边战略研究，确立将东北亚安全走势与中国战略调整、大国在东南亚南亚外交与中国周边战略构建，作为中心两个重点研究方向，着重就中国周边战略和周边外交所涉重大、前沿和热点问题开展学术研究工作。

中心致力在上述及相关领域，产出一批高质量、具有影响力的研究成果，拓展国内外学术交流合作，获得高水平科研项目，为各级政府决策提供理论支持与政策咨询，服务国家和广东对外开放战略。争取若干年内，将中心建设成为国内外知名、具有鲜明研究特色和研究优势的中国周边战略研究机构。

中心现有研究人员近20人，其中不乏在该研究领域著名或知名学者；中心研究人员具有博士学位、高级职称及境外留学或访学经历者占90%以上；中心下设周边大国关系、周边地区合作、美国亚太政策、中国周边外交4个研究室。

The Center for China's Regional Strategies in Neighbouring Area Studies

The Center for China's Regional Strategies in Neighbouring Area Studies is one of the key research institute of humanities & social science in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) and the first research institute that specializes in China's regional strategies in Neighbouring Area in Guangdong province. Established on December 29 in the year of 2018, it is dependent on support from the School of International Relations, GDUFS.

China's neighbouring area is the solid geostrategic foundation for China's peaceful development. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the concentration on China’s neighborhood and the endeavor to better it have become more and more important in the overall situation of China’s development and diplomacy with the changes of the global situations and the general trend of our national development. Therefore, it is theoretically and practically urgent to research the China’s regional strategies in neighbouring area in a more active way. In view of  significant theoretical research and national practical needs& GDUFS’s requirements of building the high-level university, our center focuses on the strategic studies between China and the Northeast Asia, the Southeast Asia as well as the South Asia, and the academic research on the significant, cutting-edge and hot issues on China’s regional diplomacy. We focus mainly on two research fields: one is the Northeast Asian security situation and the adjustment of China's strategy, and the other is the Great Power in the Southeast or South Asian diplomacy and the construction of China's regional strategy.

We try to afford a batch of high quality and influential research achievements in the above-mentioned fields, expand national and international academic exchanges and cooperation, take charge of high-level research projects, provide theoretical support and policy advice for governments at all levels, and make contribution to the opening up strategy of Guangdong Province as well as the whole country. We hope that the center will become a well-known, distinguished and advantaged research institute both at home and abroad in the near future.

There are about 20 research fellows in the center, including some well-known and distinguished scholars in this field. More than 90% of them have the doctoral degrees, the senior professional titles and overseas study or academic visits backgrounds. The center is consisted of four facilities which carry out research on relations among the great powers neighbouring China, the Regional Cooperation in China’s peripheral locality, U.S. Asia-Pacific foreign Policy, and China's Diplomacy with Neighboring Countries respectively.
